WELCOME BACK!
GO BULLDOGS!
Welcome back for the 2025-2026 school year!
I am starting my 13th year at Garvy teaching Primary Resource Special Education in the subjects of English Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Special Education from Western Illinois University in 2012.
This school year, I am the chair for Student Council. If your child is in grades 4-8 and are interested in helping plan activities throughout the school year, make sure they pick up a QR code to sign up! If any questions arise in regards to Student Council, please do not hesitate to reach out!
I plan to coach a variety of sports (Volleyball, Basketball, Flag Football) and host a few different clubs (Broadcast, Harry Potter, Fitness) throughout the school year.
When I am not working, I enjoy playing softball year round; 1 league during the winter, 4 softball leagues during the spring/summer + a handful of tournaments, and 3 leagues during the fall -- all differ in what ball; 16 inch, 14 inch hard ball and 14 inch mush ball.
I also enjoy bowling with my family/friends in different leagues on different days of the month.
Last year, my dog Crosby crossed the rainbow bridge. Extremely devastating but since have adopted a Pitbull Mastiff puppy, and named him Groot, he currently is 8 months old! I enjoy taking him on walks and training him and assisting him in getting along with my cats, Loki, Bucky and Rocket.
:)
I am so excited to begin this school year and to experience all the new adventures this school year brings!
Any questions, comments or concerns please do not hesitate to email me.
Love,
Ms. Cavanaugh
