Welcome to Learning Technology

Hello! My name is Daniel Ravury. This is my 25th year of teaching. I am the computer science teacher here at Garvy Elementary School. I have been teaching computer science for nineteen years here at Garvy and I am excited for another great school year! I received my bachelor's degree in engineering, and I also received two master's degrees from DePaul University: one in elementary education and another in school administration. I am also a Ph.D. candidate in instructional technology from Northern Illinois University.

In my class, I teach the basics of Micro-bit, augmented reality, coding, Scratch, Google Tools, Microsoft Office, and Raspberry Pi. I am also excited to receive the LEGO Grant to introduce the First LEGO League Team Challenge as an afterschool program. Computer science is a growing field, and I am so excited to share my passion for this subject with you all this year!

Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, painting, playing the drums, and having fun with my three children! My family and I are huge sports fans as well! Go Cubs and Bulls! I also run Yearbook at Garvy Elementary and have enjoyed designing it each year.
