Who is Mrs. Hehn?
I have been teaching at Garvy for 22 years! I went to DePaul for my Bachelor's degree in Education. After starting at Garvy, I went back for my Master’s through National Louis. I love working with middle school. I have endorsements in all core subjects and am certified Learning Behavior Specialist and English Language Learning. I am a National Board Certified Teacher. It is not all academic work for me. This will be my twenty first year with the Adopt-a-Classroom Committee. I have coached SCORE basketball and soccer teams.
What do I do when I am not at Garvy? Family is first for me. You take advantage of any time you get to spend with them. This year's travel took me along the East coast from DC to Key West. My daughter is an RN/BSN at Evanston Hospital. My son lives in Denver and is an electrician at a large company in Golden, Colorado. I love to read, put together jigsaw puzzles, and sew. My favorite place to be is on the beach with a good book or a plastic bag. I will beach walk for hours picking up trash, then I will take a break to read my book and listen to the waves.
