All About Me
This year I celebrate 20 years at Garvy School. There is no place I would rather be! I went to DePaul for my Bachelor's degree in Education.. After starting at Garvy, I went back for my Master’s through National Louis. I am a National Board Certified Teacher in Science. Most years I have taught Science, but I have experience teaching Social Studies, Language Arts and Math as well. Science is my passion and I love sharing this with all my students. It is not all academic work for me. I have been part of the Adopt-a-Classroom for seventeen years. I have coached Heart and Sole/Girls on the Run, SCORE basketball and volleyball teams.
What do I do when I am not at Garvy? Family is first for me. You take advantage of any time you get to spend with them. My daughter graduated this past year and is now a nurse at Evanston Hospital. My son lives in Denver and is a maintenance technician at a large company in Golden Colorado. I love to read, put together jigsaw puzzles, and sew. My favorite place to be is on the beach with a good book or a plastic bag. I will beach walk for hours picking up trash, then I will take a break to read my book and listen to the waves.
I am looking forward to another great year. Go Bulldogs!
