Happy Sunday Garvy!
Thank you to all the parents who attended the Quarter 1 Parent-Teacher Conferences either in-person or virtually. Special shout-out to the 3rd and 4th grade teachers who held student-led conferences. This was a wonderful opportunity for our students to take ownership of their learning and showcase the important skills they learned during the 1st quarter. Well done!
Halloween Parade
On Tuesday, October 31st, we will have our annual Halloween Parade which will begin on the turf around 2:15 PM for students in Grades K-4. Join us to see all of our scary and creative costumes this year! We ask that adults stand on the middle of the turf to allow the parade to proceed around the turf without interference.
ATTENTION: All students in grades K-8, who choose to participate, are allowed to wear a school appropriate costume, that will not be a disruption to instruction. All students can wear the costume to school. Keep in mind the younger students must be able to manage the costume by themselves. No guns, swords, or other weapon replicas. Masks and face paint are not allowed for grades 5th-8th.
Lifetouch Fall Pictures
We finally received an update from the LifeTouch Picture company. They were able to locate the missing Garvy photos, which were "stuck in the cloud". Packages should be arriving in the parents' hands within 2-3 weeks. Fall Retakes are scheduled for Thursday, November 16th.
If you would like to express your concerns directly to the company, here is the customer service number: Parent Customer Service: 1.800.736.4753
PTA Events
Thank you so much to all the families that participated and/or attended the PTA Trunk or Treat on Saturday. It was a wonderful community event.
The Eerie Excursion Tour runs through Wednesday, November 1st. You are invited to view the eerily decorated houses. The PTA has included a list of addresses and a map for you to view the amazing houses! https://bit.ly/3tFblwX
Once you have viewed all 19 houses, you can vote for your favorite house. Use the google form to vote! Voting ends on November 1st and the winner will be announced on November 3rd.
Scholastic Book fair
Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is almost here. Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them on their journey to becoming lifelong readers. AND—as always—every purchase at the Fair benefits our school.
Here are some details that you need to know about the book fair, scheduled for Monday, November 13th to Sunday, November 26th.
Say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.
If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Book Fair online. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Every online purchase will also benefit our school.
Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping:
