Additional Notes
Staff Shout-out: Our staff shout out form is back! I want to provide a space for parents to show their gratitude for our hardworking staff. If you would like to give a shout out to a staff member, please fill out the following form. We will share all submissions with our staff. Parent to Staff Shout out Form
Level I & Level II Volunteer Application Process: All individuals who are interested in volunteering (includes chaperoning field trips) must be approved by CPS. Depending on the level of volunteering you plan to do, you will be asked to complete an application for either a “Level I” or “Level II” volunteer.
NEW: Volunteer services will send parents an email with instructions about a required CPS volunteer training. This is a new step required after being approved at the school level.

Happy Sunday Garvy!
Be Kind ๐พ Be Strong ๐พ Be Well ๐พ Be a Bulldog
Quarter 2 Progress Reports will be distributed this Friday. Be sure to review your child's grades with them. We appreciate your collaboration.
Fall Scholastic Book Fair

The Fall Scholastic Book Fair will be held from Monday, November 17th through Friday, November 21st. You may send cash with your child, in an envelope for the younger students) or sign up for the Scholastic e-wallet here.
Every purchase from the Book Fair earns rewards for our school, so please stop by and support us.
Garvy Food Drive
Garvy School is organizing a Holiday Food Drive. Each grade level will be responsible for certain items. This will ensure we have a variety of items to support needy families. These items will be donated to a local food pantry in our community. See the linked Garvy Food Drive document for details.
In these days of uncertainty, please be ensured that every CPS student will continue to have access to free breakfast and lunch at school each day.
Here is where families can find food now:
- We Got You Illinois — this site includes an interactive map of food distribution sites in your area
- Greater Chicago Food Depository — includes an interactive map as well as distribution sites operating on Saturdays throughout November.
- Call the Healthy Kids Hotline at (773) 553-KIDS (5437)
- Check with local churches, nonprofits, and community centers in your area
We Are Garvy Community Circle
When the world feels heavy, we ground ourselves in what we can do—right here, right now—to care for each other. When we show up for one another, we protect our children's futures and strengthen our whole community.
A community of Garvy parents have formed the We Are Garvy Community Circle, a place for parents, guardians, families, and neighbors to come together to protect, support, and lead with compassion.
If you’d like to lend a hand in simple, meaningful ways or if your family needs support with school attendance or other related needs, please complete the Google Form, and someone will reach out to you.
All inquiries can be sent to the parent organizers at the following email address [email protected].
