PAWs Pillars
Be Strong: Executive Functioning Skills
Responsibility, Courage, and Perseverance
Throughout the 2nd Quarter, schoolwide we will focus on the Paws Pillar- Be Strong. This pillar focuses on executive functioning skills. Executive Functioning skills are essential to help students focus, stay organized, and set goals for themselves.
Courage: Choose what is helpful, right, and kind, even when it is hard or scary
“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I’ll try again tomorrow.” – Mary Anne Radmacher

Arrival & Dismissal: Remember that it is all of our jobs to keep our school community safe. Due to the size of our student population, arrival and dismissal times can be a challenge. .
Be mindful that there are children everywhere. Please set the proper example of community, cooperation, and safety precautions for our children.

Happy Sunday Garvy!
International Fest
This year's International Fest is Thursday, November 30th from 5:00-7:00 P.M. We are in need of students and parent volunteers to help make our event a true community success. If anyone would be interested in performing at this year's event (e.g. a song in their native language, a traditional dance, a poem from/about their culture, etc.). please let us know by completing the following survey. International Fest Volunteers Needed
We look forward to seeing our students and their families come together and celebrate the many beautiful cultures we have in our community.
Scholastic Book Fair
What happens to eWallets after the Fair?
After the Book Fair, unused eWallet funds will convert to an eGift card balance within 24 hours. Families can use the eGift card to shop online in The Scholastic Store or the remaining balance can fund a new eWallet for the spring book fair. Families will receive a monthly email reminder with their eWallet balance so they don’t forget their funds.
Attendance Matters
Chronic absenteeism, missing 9 days or more of school for any
reason - excused or unexcused, means students are less likely to read proficiently by third grade, more likely to fail in middle school and eventually drop out of high school. Missing school, even in kindergarten, has major consequences.
What time constitutes a ½ day of attendance?
- If a student is tardy, arriving after 9:30 am- ½ day attendance
- If a student leaves school early, prior to 2:30 pm- ½ day attendance
Current Attendance Percentages
School-wide Overall Attendance (YTD): 94.3%

Outdoor Recess
Bundle Up! Our daily schedule includes approximately 25 minutes of recess for all students in grades K-8. We will continue to venture outside, weather permitting, so we are asking that students be prepared for the winter elements by wearing boots, hats, gloves, and scarves to brave the weather.
We monitor the weather and will send students out if temperature and wind chill (feels like temps) are 20 degrees and higher. It is highly recommended that younger students (Grades K-1) have a change of clothes available in their lockers. If you have not sent clothes to school, please do so.
