World Kindness Day
Monday, November 13th is World Kindness Day.
World Kindness Day offers an opportunity to highlight the good that is in our school community. Kindness is a fundamental part of the human condition and has been shown to increase self-esteem, empathy and compassion, and improve mood.

If you are new to the volunteer process, please sign up with the link below. Please note that you must bring your ID or Driver's license to the main office to process the new application. Arrival & Dismissal: Remember that it is all of our jobs to keep our school community safe. Due to the size of our student population, arrival and dismissal times can be a challenge. .
Be mindful that there are children everywhere. Please set the proper example of community, cooperation, and safety precautions for our children.

Scholastic Book fair
The Scholastic Book Fair starts tomorrow! You and/or your child can purchase a variety of books and trinkets in person in the Music Room. You can also shop online until Sunday, November 26th to support our school. 25% of every online purchase during the Fair directly benefits our school.
The fair will also be open after school on Thursday, November 16 until 4:30pm.
Say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the
Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each
child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.
If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Book Fair online. All orders ship
directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Every online purchase will
also benefit our school.

International Fest
This year's International Fest is Thursday, November 30th from 5:00-7:00 P.M. We are in need of students and parent volunteers to help make our event a true community success. If anyone would be interested in performing at this year's event (e.g. a song in their native language, a traditional dance, a poem from/about their culture, etc.). please let us know by completing the following survey. Lifetouch Fall Pictures
As you are aware, we have been experiencing major technical difficulties with Lifetouch regarding the Fall Photos. Several families received their missing packages last week. However, they are flawed. There is a purple/red haze found on several of the photos.
Lifetouch has informed us that they are unable to correct the flaw. Therefore, the students with the haze will need to take a new photo during retakes on Thursday, November 16th in order to correct the issue. Any student that does not have an image in the portal will need to take a retake.
Parents can keep the flawed photos and should contact Lifetouch Customer Service at 800-736-4753 to request a refund.
Due to the ongoing concerns with the Lifetouch company, we are shopping for a new photographer for next school year.

GoCPS Application
Families can submit an application from Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 10 am, through Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 5 pm. From the November 9 application deadline through Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 5 pm, families who applied will be able to login again and re-rank programs if they wish. However, no new school choices can be added or removed from an existing application during the re-rank period, and no new GoCPS applications will be accepted after the deadline of November 9, 2023 at 5 pm.
