Arrival & Dismissal: Remember that it is all of our jobs to keep our school community safe. Due to the size of our student population, arrival and dismissal times can be a challenge.
Be mindful that there are children everywhere. Please set the proper example of community, cooperation, and safety precautions for our children.

Spelling Bee Champ!
Congratulations to Gray G, one of our proud 8th graders! She has qualified to be
in the Citywide Spelling Bee Championship!! The competition is this Tuesday, March 19 at 9:00am at Curie High School. Go luck Gray! Go Bulldogs!
Spring Sports
With the Spring Season for CPS SCORE SPORTS quickly approaching, practice for Girls Soccer and Boys/Girls Flag Football will be starting. Be aware that the teams will be practicing on the turf before and after school. For safety reasons, when the teams are officially practicing (with a coach) on the turf, please vacate the space. Thank you for your understanding.
Solo Music Contest
Yesterday, students from all over Chicago and the surrounding suburbs participated in a solo band contest at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity School. These students have spent many weeks preparing solos to be played in front of a judge. A few Garvy students participated and were awarded medals for their performances.

IAR/ISA Testing
The IAR/ISA testing continues this Tuesday for our 3rd, 4th, and 7th graders. We are all working to ensure the children have a successful testing experience. Here are some ways that you can help:
- Ensure your child gets a good night's sleep
- Ensure that your child arrives to school on time
- Send them to school with their chromebook and wired headphones
- Gently encourage them to do their best
Please note: Electronic devices, including smartwatches and wireless/bluetooth airpods are not permitted during testing. Wired headphones and a fully charged chromebook (for our 1 to 1 grade levels) are necessary.

The Chicago Wolves hockey team is hosting Garvy School at a Chicago Wolves game on Saturday, April 20th! This is such a cool experience and we are excited to share this family night out with you all!
