Additional Notes
Staff Shout-out: Our staff shout out form is back! I want to provide a space for parents to show their gratitude for our hardworking staff. If you would like to give a shout out to a staff member, please fill out the following form. We will share all submissions with our staff. Parent to Staff Shout out Form
Level I & Level II Volunteer Application Process: All individuals who are interested in volunteering (includes chaperoning field trips) must be approved by CPS. Depending on the level of volunteering you plan to do, you will be asked to complete an application for either a “Level I” or “Level II” volunteer.
NEW: Volunteer services will send parents an email with instructions about a required CPS volunteer training. This is a new step required after being approved at the school level.

Using the registration form below, you will pick your child's Top 3 options. They will get placed into 1 of their 3 options, if space permits. It is first come, first serve.

CPS Calendar
CPS is seeking feedback on the academic calendar for the net two years. You can share your feedback by completing this very brief survey by Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at noon. The survey provides three options for the 2026–27 calendar and asks you to choose the one you prefer most. Similar timing will be applied to the calendar for the following school year (SY 2027–28).
Calling all Garvy artists! The Adopt-a-Classroom Committee is looking for the next designer of our Walk-a-Thon t-shirt. Could that designer be you?
Theme: Garvy is the Greatest School on Earth (Circus theme)
It's Read-a-Thon Time!!! Our school Read-A-Thon begins on Monday January 26, 2026 and is sure to be a fun and exciting event. This year we have a goal of $15,000. We are raising funds for Student Growth and Improvement and Teacher Appreciation. For example, money raised will go towards things like Paws Pillars Breakfasts, Online Resources (subscriptions) for teachers, and events such as Back to School Breakfast and the Teacher Appreciation Lunch for teachers and staff. This fundraiser will run from Monday, January 26th through Friday, February 27th.
Your child is coming home with a flyer that includes specific instructions for activating your student’s Reader account. Follow the steps on the flyer. Activating the account is easy! The link is also provided here: https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/lzZYmx/1?utm=email
In order to incentivize for a successful fundraiser, we will have grade band winners for raising the most funds.
There will be 3 winners this year: One classroom from grades K-2, one classroom from grades 3-5, and one classroom from grades 6-8. The winning classes will receive a sweet treat delivered to your classroom! We will also be honoring the class with the most minutes read throughout the whole school! In order to win, your class needs to read and fundraise the most money among your grade band.
This is one of our biggest fundraisers, and we appreciate all of your support in assisting in making this a fun, competitive way to read and raise money! Share your child’s Reader account with family and friends and share on social media.
