Please join us on Tuesday for Fine Arts Night. There will be several displays and creation stations around the school for you to learn and work alongside your child. There will also be student performances. Students have been working hard in class on their various projects and we also have some pretty cool stuff planned that we don’t want you to miss. Hope to see you on Tuesday!

CPS My Voice, My School
The 2024 My Voice, My School Parent/Guardian Survey is open through April 30, 2024 and can be accessed online at cps.edu/parentsurvey. This annual survey is an excellent opportunity to give us your feedback on where your school is succeeding and where there is room for improvement. The survey is completely anonymous, available in several languages, and takes about 5–10 minutes to complete. Please contact [email protected] with any questions.
Senior Sign Off Day
As we approach the end of the school year, we are starting a new tradition. We are in search of Garvy alumni who are graduating from high school this year to come back and speak with
our graduating 8th graders. We look forward to the seniors sharing their high school experiences. If you have or know of a Garvy alum who is a graduating from high school this spring, please share their names with Ms. Stanis, our school counselor, via email [email protected].
Sidewalk Conditions
The overall conditions of the sidewalks surrounding our school have deteriorated. The poor conditions have only been exacerbated by the water main break on April 1st. As a part of the LSC Facilities committee, Mr. Szymczak, a LSC Parent Representative, and I created the following proposal to request assistance from the 41st ward Alderman's office. This proposal was hand delivered to Alderman Napolitano's office last week. In addition, we have invited the Alderman to attend one of our last two LSC meeting to discuss. We await his response. As a community, I ask for your help in this endeavor. Our students and overall community deserve a clear pathway to and from school. If you have any ideas to help, please contact me. Here is the document that was shared with the Alderman: Garvy Sidewalk Proposal
