A Look at the Week Ahead 11/4-11/8/2019

November 4-8, 2019

Hello Garvy Bulldogs!

In order to ensure a smooth transition back to normal, it is important to keep our important traditions going at Garvy! Next week to cultivate school spirit we will celebrate Red Ribbon Week and have our Annual Halloween Parade. Our parade will be held on Thursday, November 7th at 3:00 P.M. Students in grades K-4 will parade around the turf (or inside the building if inclement weather persists) for all to see. There are no classroom parties on this day.

Art to Remember Announcement: Students are to return Art to Remember by Monday, November 4th!!

HIP Decorations for primary students are due back to school on Wednesday, November 6th!

The Fall Sports Season will not be canceled - it will resume Saturday, November 9th

Basketball Announcement: 5-8th grade students who are interested in playing make sure that you sign up by Tuesday, November 5th so you can get your packet in by Thursday. There will be no exceptions for late packets!!

On another note, if you are interested in hosting any kind of fundraiser, please contact me via email. Once we have the chance to discuss your idea, I can help direct you to the organization that may assist your needs best. Fundraisers are approved by the Local School Council (LSC) and must be on the LSC Agenda prior to the meeting. Most fundraisers usually go through either the Adopt-A-Classroom Committee (AAC) or Parent Teacher Association (PTA). A parent/parent group who would like to fund raise always has the ability to bring their idea(s) to the PTA or AAC meeting prior to proposing the fundraiser to me or the Local School Council for approval. There is a fundraising calendar created prior to the school year and I have been trying to minimize how many fundraisers we are asking parents to contribute to, however I understand that there are people who are both willing and interested in doing more for Garvy School and I love that. All ideas are worthy of mention and as the principal, I appreciate your care in the success of our school!
