Hello 4th grade! We want to build on the idea of architecture and now we want to create a “Building Relief”. You can choose to use the sketch you created last week or you can look out the window and create a building you see, look one up on the internet or do your own home! A relief is a sculpture on one side and flat on the other. You will need to collect some cardboard from around the house, save those pizza boxes! If the cardboard is thin, you can always stack it a few times to make it thicker. You can also do a rubbing of your relief when it is complete! Check out the video for clarity. If you don’t have paint, you can always color with markers or crayons! Enjoy!
Materials: glue, cardboard, paint (markers or crayons)

Remember when we discussed creating 3-D buildings that represent ourselves based on personality traits and interests? Lets practice for that learning by drawing a picture of a building that represents ourselves. You can take this prompt and RUN WITH IT! You can choose to make it silly: making the windows for eyes etc. You can make it more realistic: if you love animals, draw a picture of a pet store. Remember you can share your creations with me so I can post some on the art room Instagram page! These are a few links that can help you get started.
