Description
6th grade follows NGSS standards and focuses on Earth Science. We will dig into the deepest parts of the Earth and head to the furthest points in Space. We will have debates on many scientific ideas. Students will participate in engineer design challenges and evaluate costs related to these inventions. Each activity is summarized with a conclusion that practices the claim, evidence, and reasoning in developing a good argument.  Earth Science Rocks!

Nonrenewable energy resource usage has decreased from 2010 to 2017, but not by much. . Why do you think the United States continues to use coal, oil, and natural gas? Renewable energy has increased from 2010 to 2017. Of the renewable energy resources presented, which ONE would you recommend the U.S. use instead of fossil fuels? Why is this is the best choice? Use information from your notes, presentations,  and data table to support your answer.

How do convection currents work as a system to move the lithosphere? Include information explaining where the heat comes from and what happens when the surface cools.
